I, Shirlonda Evans- McCain, am the Owner and Personal Professional Growth Coach at Peacing Life Together, LLC. I am a parent of an adult daughter who is involved in the LGBT community. When I first learned about my daughter I was hurt, mad, and confused. I felt like the life I had planned was not going to play out; no son-in-law or the God- given family setting of man and woman. However, I was determined not to allow the world to dictate my love for my child. A word I have learned that both parties want to hear is acceptance. As the child he or she wants the parents to accept them as they are. As the parents who have their beliefs they can’t find themselves to say the word accepts. What helped me and my daughter over the years was me loving her unconditionally and supporting her through her life transitions. I want to be a bridge for parents to get the support and skills to get back to loving their child and helping them through their life transitions.

This monthly support group is designed to fellowship with other parents and gain insight on how to cope and communicate better with children who identify as LGBT. This is a place to share, listen, and be heard. We spend half the time engaging fun expressive forms and the other half supporting each other in process format. The overall objectives of the group are to gain a greater understanding of the power of love, self, others, and the societal environment in which we live in. This will be a great opportunity for parents who have a child who identify as LGBT to love and support them through their life transitions.

This is a free event, love offerings are welcomed.

We meet every 3rd Tuesday of the month.
